“Visuals give people a better idea of what to expect at our hotel. If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ rich media are worth even more! We are excited to enhance our presence online with a mix of photos and virtual tours that really inspires people to book.”
Monica Goldstein, Marketing Manager, Lancaster House AparatiSuite
This Colombian Hotel’s Visual Experience is as Rich as its Coffee
Like a fresh cup of Colombian coffee, this Colombian hotel’s visual experience is bold, rich and distinct. Lancaster House Apartasuites is a Boutique Hotel in Bogota, Colombia, with 55 large, elegantly furnished apartment-style suites with warm art deco ambiance, luxurious detail and art by renowned artists.
Being an independent boutique property has its challenges. One of them is creating brand awareness in a sea of branded hotels. But they have risen to the challenge. “Not being part of a hotel chain, we want people to see that they will get equal or better service in the Colombian Hotel market,” says Monica Goldstein, Marketing Services Manager, Lancaster House Apartasuites.
“We want provide an opportunity, for people who are looking to find or book a hotel, to see and feel what Lancaster House is all about and to set it apart from the competition; to make it look more accessible and professional. Using the VBrochure we have a way to allow people to see and feel what we are all about.”
A “Latte” Visual in a “Latte” Place
By including photos of guests enjoying breakfast buffet in the Gatsby Restaurant, room service on their own private patio, and a coffee in the Capuchino Café, relaxing in the sauna, checking email in the business center, or working out in the fitness center, travel shoppers experience the hotel as if they’re there.
“You want viewers to really get a feel for what the hotel is, how people will experience it and what they can do and enjoy. If ‘a picture is worth a thousand words,’ rich media like virtual tours are worth even more! Visuals give people a better idea of the services we offer and what to expect at our hotel,” says Goldstein.
In addition to being posted on their website (www.lancasterhouse.com.co), their photos and virtual tours are also available on VNetwork channels. They also do SEO, PPC advertising, ads on travel sites as well as GDS’s, social media, and email campaigns. Now, they’re able to incorporate their multimedia into many of these initiatives – increasing their success.
“Ultimately, we want to increase conversion rates from lookers to bookers and remain a step ahead of the competition. To achieve this, it’s important to be able to show who we are, what guests can expect when they come to us, the personalized service that we give, and the feel of comfort in a modern suite – not just a hotel room.”
A Boost in E-Sales
Since launching VBrochure Ultra Premium in September 2010, they have noticed greater online visibility and recognition. “Along with the proper GDS and website marketing, we expect to increase our e-sales by a multiple of 5 within the next 6 months,” states Goldstein.
A rich visual experience like Lancaster House Apartasuites’ is a great way to express your hotel’s story and wake travel shoppers up. Goldstein offers some great advice: “Hotel marketing is becoming more focused on having a strong online presence. Your presentation should be clear, not sales pitch, and connect with the viewers.”
Lancaster House Apartasuites subscribes to VBrochure Ultra Premium which enables them to display their media in a customized Multimedia Viewer on thousands of traditional and social media channels.
